Rambler Fabrication has outgrown its facility of over 33 years is now located a short drive east of Calgary's city limits at 285097 Bluegrass Drive in Rockyview County, Alberta.

As always, safety is the main concern at Rambler. Having the right equipment and the capacity to complete our projects is of utmost importance and one of the main reasons for our move.

Our new facility was designed and built by Spacemakers Construction Services Inc. They have been very accommodating in meeting—and exceeding—our needs, including a 21,000 square foot welding shop, two floors of office space and ample space in the fenced yard for storage and security.

The new fabrication shop is 60% larger than our previous location, with two 10-ton, electronically controlled overhead cranes on four 175-foot long crane rails, allowing for a total of 40 tonnes of lifting capacity. We also have a 4,000-US-gallon water tank used for our hydro testing of newly fabricated pipe spools and 17 Gorbel wall bracket jib cranes, each with a 2-ton capacity, a full 180° rotational span and above-par safety rated support system. Along with all our new equipment, we brought all of our welders and rollers from our previous location. A part of the design was maximizing the flow in which our fabrication process is conducted. The overhead bridge cranes and the Gorbel jib cranes have allowed us to transport spools from fitting to welding to NDE, and hydro testing to minimize unnecessary material handling and, thus, maximize fabrication efficiency.

We've also capitalized on efficiencies in our yard, with two separate entrances kitty corner on our 3-acre lot allowing raw materials and finished product to enter, flow through and exit in one continuous motion. The result of this highly efficient design allows us to not only take on a bigger workload but complete a larger number of projects in the same amount of time.
