Occupational Health, Safety & Environment
Our integrated Health, Safety and Environmental Programs are at the core of all of our operations. These programs include management commitment and leadership, employee training and awareness, inspections and audits, emergency preparedness and response planning, communications and continuous improvement. Adherence to these programs has been, and continues to be, paramount to the success of our business and to the health and safety of our operations.
Trotter & Morton's corporate culture is influenced by four fundamental business factors: productivity, quality, cost effectiveness, and most importantly, safety. We aim to establish a company culture with a strong focus on safety. At Trotter & Morton, safety is about empowering our people to be safety-conscious all of the time. Our people are safety role models and lead by example. Trotter & Morton safety is about continuous improvement, with no repeat failures.
Education & Training
At Trotter & Morton, we believe that a well-trained team of workers creates a safer workplace. Workers must have basic safety training to satisfy the requirements of the law and our Clients. Management is committed to providing sufficient resources to ensure our employees are fully informed of their responsibilities and are trained in safety while performing their duties. As the job position responsibilities increase, so does the safety training.
Risk Assessment & Control
Risk Assessment is a process for identifying, quantifying, assessing and controlling hazards and risks. A safe and healthy workplace is greatly dependent on how well this process is implemented and carried out. Trotter & Morton has actively involved employees in the process of developing competency standards and hazard assessment tools for Safety Critical Tasks. Our Hazard Assessment Process reflects our commitment to workplace health and safety during every activity from the start of every project through to completion.
Safety is everyone’s job. All Trotter & Morton employees are personally empowered to take every measure as far it is reasonably practicable and continuously improve processes, so the risk of occupational injuries and illnesses, among others, is reduced as low as it can reasonably go. If everyone engaged within the Trotter & Morton Group of Companies is continually improving processes he or she is involved in, we can drive risk down as low as it can reasonably go and tomorrow, we can strive to drive it down a little further.
Environmental legislation deals with environmental responsibilities as being shared by all persons whose activities may affect the environment. Awareness and education are fundamental steps in managing the risks associated with this developing and expanding field. Trotter & Morton is committed to conducting our business in an environmentally- sound manner. In addition to carrying out corporate programs we and our clients have initiated, all of our employees are required to be familiar and comply with environmental laws and regulations relevant to their employment responsibilities.
Everyone associated with Trotter & Morton maintains a safe working environment that we all benefit from. The Trotter & Morton Safety Hour Awards Program was developed to reward individuals for each accident-free hour earned.
