Project Details

The Hardisty Terminal is the largest independent storage facility strategically located at the heart of the most important heavy crude oil hub in Canada.

Whaler, as a general contractor in collaboration with Rambler Fabrication, constructed a new storage terminal, the Hardisty West Terminal, near the Town of Hardisty, AB. This new terminal receives production consisting of bitumen blends and synthetic crudes. The works performed by Whaler included piling, structural steel fabrication and erection, pipe fabrication and installation, installation of owner-supplied equipment, millwrighting, structural steel fabrication and installation, hauling and setting of modules, sub-contract insulation, painting, provision of all materials, equipment, supervision and labour.

This project was completed safely on schedule and on budget resulting in a continued positive working relationship with Gibson Energy.
