Project Details

The Hillcrest Community Centre, previously known as the Vancouver Olympic/Paralympic Centre at Hillcrest Park, has been undergoing significant renovations to move closer to net-zero and reduce emissions. One of the sustainable technologies part of this upgrade included the installation of a Heat Recovery System. Waste heat from the refrigeration plant, aquatic centre, and community centre are captured and recycled to heat other building spaces and produce domestic hot water for the facility.

Trotter & Morton’s mechanical division as responsible for the supply, install, and commissioning of the heat recovery chiller, controls, and firestopping.
