Project Details

The 90 km (56 mile) pipeline system transports bitumen and diluent between the Fort Hills mine site and Suncor Energy’s terminal located north of Fort McMurray, Alberta. The pipeline system is a critical piece of infrastructure to support the long-term plans for growth and transmission of increased production from the Alberta oil sands. Fort Hills Pumps include 3000HP Horizontal pumps, ETF Pumps include 3, 1750 HP Horizontal Shipping pumps.

While acting as the General Contractor for Fort Hills and East Tank Farm sites, Whaler assumed the role of Prime Contractor. Listed below is a summary of the work Whaler in collaboration with Rambler Fabrication executed safely on time and on budget.

  • Supply and installation of reinforced concrete
